R&S Records return with a supreme slice of techno from renowned Belgium producer Fabrice Lig with a stunning remix from R&S new signing Space Dimension Controller.
It’s a surprise that Fabrice hasn’t recorded for R&S before now, with both label and producer being Belgium techno institutions and having massive connections to Detroit. R&S released classics from Derrick May, Carl Craig and Stacey Pullen and Fabrice was the first Belgium artist to release on a Detroit label, Kevin Saunderson’s KMS.
The collaboration has definitely been worth the wait though. Digital Forest is one of Fabrice’s finest tracks, a big room techno symphony that deserves to be packaged in the classic silver and blue packaging with the prancing horse.
On remix duty is R&S new signing Space Dimension Controller (AKA 20 year old Belfast based producer Jack Hamill). This young analogue freak is equally influenced equal parts by Model 500, Zapp, Aphex Twin and Drexciya (a perfect combination for an R&S artist). His take of Digital Forest takes it down a deeper, lush, funkier route that perfectly compliments the original.
Fabrice Lig also records under the alias Soul Designer and has recorded for some of the most respected electronic labels around the globe including KMS, Playhouse, F Communications, Third ear and Versatile. His new album on Fine Art Records is released this summer.
Space Dimension Controller has recently released a single on Clone, which included a remix from big SDC fan Kyle Hall.
